Picked up this Marlin 30-30 having trouble Identifying how old it is. I can text pictures wanting sell but trying to find out a little more before setting a price.

What model? does it have a serial number? If it does it was made in 1941 or later.

There are several places to look it up from the serial number http://www.savage99.com/marlin336_dates.htm being one

This the one you were looking for a couple or so years ago?

This one looks to have a D6757 under the lever

If it's a '47 it should have a "waffle-top" on the receiver. Sounds like you have a nice Marlin.

Waffle tops weren't made until 1948, the first year of the 336.

I have seen pics of the OP's rifle and it is a Marlin 36-R "Marlin Safety" from 1947. I will let him speak to the intent of the inquiry. No, they don't have a cross bolt safety it's just what Marlin engraved on them.
