Anyone kayaked the 60 mile trek from Pandale to the high bridge?

I’m going with a group of 3 in May. I’ve done the Devil’s but this will be my first time on the Pecos.

Any tips?

We will utilize a shuttle service and possibly tow out the last few miles.

Planning to stay at the Pandale crossing cabins the night before. Giving ourselves 7 days/6 nights.

Please, please make a very detailed post of this entire trip….planning through execution and post trip reflections.

I’ve canoed the Buffalo in northern Arkansas several times but would love to make a trip like this.

There are some weir dams on the bottom end above the high railroad bridge, but from what I saw they do not extend all the way across the river. In other words you can get around them without a portage. I don't live too far from the high bridge, if ya need something holler at me and I'll see what I can do.

I’ll be interested to see the difference between this and the Devil’s. The Devil’s was a lot of fun, pretty easy trip compared to what I had read and was prepared for. Amazing scenery!

If you want to know more about the Devil’s PM me.

Do you explore any of the small caves that are along the waterways? There are some on the Rio that I have climber up to that were interesting to scope out. Didn't find any artifacts but was still fun to get to them.

I've fed ranches on both rivers and I would be very, very careful about trespassing on some of them because the ranchers or the workers will call the law on you.

Shane mentioned above is the man. He takes folks on the Pecos and Devil's all the time and is really affordable. He has all the details worked out and I've never seen a grown man get as excited about catching fish as Shane does.

If you're just getting into kayaks or want to give it a try, he does day trips on the Brazos and catches some BIG bass. It's a ton of fun.

Hope you have a great trip. I’d like to make trips on both the Pecos and Devil’s someday.

Anyone have Shane’s contact info? Or what is his TFF screen name?

Just wanting to ask about the tow out possibility the last 10 miles to the take out near the high bridge.
