Looking for the best digital ambient temp gages. What do you trust and recommend? Have a meater+, and a thermapen. Mainly looking for a trusty ambient probe.

I just switched to the ThermoWorks Signals which comes with a temp probe, I’ve got several pens as well but I found the MEATER probes were not very accurate and they always shut off randomly. The Signals has been flawless and my new favorite smoking tool, the WiFi works outstanding as well..

I been leaning towards Thermoworks or inkbird. My meater+ has done me good, other than losing signal outside of 50 feet

That’s about how far my MEATER +’s worked when they decided to, the signals works a lot farther away but I’m sure some of the cheaper ThermoWorks will work about the same distance to. I went with this model so I run run the Billows on it as well on the BGE and my other smokers when needed.

All of my probes are Thermoworks K-type thermocouples.

Not sure where it rates across the field, but I've had good luck with my set of Maverick probes. Going on 12 years now, still kicking.

That's what needs to be replaced. Guess I've had the maverick for 10 years. But it was getting squirrely on me yesterday. Has fresh batteries, so that ain't it, just a little beat up and worn I guess.

I'm looking hard at the thermoworks probes, their instant read has worked really well.

They work fantastically for me; probably a trivial task for my limited use. I also have a Thermapen Classic, Thermapens One, Industrial IR with circle laser, and lastly a Wand Blue. Most importantly I should share the reason why I started with the thermocouples. The mini connector Thermoworks uses is compatible with my Amprobe digital multi-meter; my meter is simply the display for the probes.

Thermoworks Signals is what I use. I also bought the billows fan and use it on my mini offset. Thermoworks makes awesome products and has great CS and tech support if needed.
