Where can I get GOOD garden soil for vegetable beds? I'd hate to buy it by the bag as I need lots of it. Dallas and East preferably

If you don't mind the drive to Denton, the landfill there sells bulk loads of "dyno dirt" that they create from compost. Good stuff up

You live in Mesquite, you have one of the best nurseries right in your back door.

As was said Ron’s organics if you want to buy it.

If you live in Mesquite you can go to the Mesquite compost place on Lawson Rd and get a truck bed of compost or mulch for free. You will need your drivers license and a bill with you name and Mesquite address on it.

Make sure it's been "cooked" over a year or you will have a heck of a time with weeds.

Check with your local sand and gravel to go places. The one here in Burleson has a really nice mushroom compost blend,

My local nursey used to stock mushroom compost and you could buy it in bulk. It was awesome. They switched to something else now that I don't like near as much.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I need to change my profile address, my house in Mesquite is a rental property now. I live between Terrell and Kaufman now. I did go to Living earth in Rockwall, looks like great soil to get started with. Ordered 8 cubic yards and it gets here Tuesday.

THIS!!! My wife let one of her friends talk her into doing a couple of raised beds in our garden. Well, the garden soil we got from a local company had Nutgrass seed in it. I have been fighting it for many years now. Got clear plastic over the whole area except for my onions trying to Solar Sterilize the whole thing. Killed off a whole lot of it by repeated tilling and after we pulled everything at the end of last year hit it really hard with Roundup.

...and start on next year by composting yourself. I have been "making" my own garden dirt for years.

Pass the gravy.
