Those that have them, what are you using? I wanted something discreet and accessible other than just dropping it in the console like I do now and also that did not look like a holster. I found this picture through google. The power wagon I ordered has the same or similar center console with the side pocket so I hunted the holster up. No longer made, but I was able to find a used one. Originally meant to mount under a steering wheel, but should fit the same as this picture. My plan is to put a first aid kit patch in place of the holster company patch and just leave the faux first aid kit mounted permanent to have handy for times I am carrying in the truck. It has a mag pouch on the end. I'll just put a small flashlight in the side as part of the "first aid kit".

The question is: In an emergency, how quickly can you get the piece out and pointed?

Laying in a closed console with other junk, very slow. In my carry holster laying in an open console almost as bad taking two hands one to hold the holster and one to pull the pistol. On my hip sitting in a bucket seat, almost impossible unless I roll onto my left side in the seat. Those are the three things I am trying to get away from.

With this holster mounted rigid to the console by my right knee, it should be a natural position for my right hand to draw from. Flap has a small magnet and opens easily as I slide my hand under it to the grip. So it should be about as fast as I can draw a holster off my hip while standing. I don't have the truck yet, so I all I could do to test it was mount it between two file cabinet handles and draw while sitting in my office chair. As long as I don't use too big a pistol for the holster, I can draw it fairly fast. If it don't work out, it's getting mounted on my three wheeler.

It’s a stupid law. I’ve seen some magnetic under the dash mounts that look great. But you could see it if you were really looking hard.

When I'm driving I take mine out and slide the holster in the little space between my seat cushion and center console. It's a snug fit, but still easy to pull the pistol quickly if you need to.

This is common. I need a holster.

Pass the gravy.

I have a holster mounted to the map pocket about where your holster is. Mine is open and visible, but black. My Kimber Micro 9 Nightfall is black also and since the interior of my Rebel is black so it's very hard to see through the driver's window. If I go into a store, it goes with me, but I do leave it in the truck on the jobsite.

I got the carry issue covered. I'm more interested in your three wheeler. I hunted off of one in the 80's. What you got now?

I thought I was going to have to use a trailer to haul it since the new power wagon will have ramboxes, but figured out it will still fit in the bed, so happy about that. I guess the diameter is a little less than a lot of more modern ATVs. Something else I was wanting to figure out was somewhere to permanently mount a holster on the three wheeler. It's a 1984 200ES Big Red.

Awesome. Didn't mean to hi-jack your thread. I had one of the first really nice Yamaha's, a 225 shaft driven with reverse, 1986. Really fun machine to hunt off of as I did for many years. Would go a lot of places most other machines wouldn't due to size and really tight turning radius.

I took an old plastic glock pattern owb holster, removed the belt mount, and screwed it to the interior of my center console. It is solidly mounted on my strong side just under console lid, repeatable draw and no fumbling for a loose pistol. The same holster will accommodate most of my Glock pistols.

I don't want to drill because of resale values,

mine is in a small touch open compartment. it's pretty fast.

can't you just lay it in the passenger seat in the open, very fast, then throw a towel over it if needed?

Mine is attached to the bottom of the front seat in a holster. Super easy to reach fast and can't see it from outside the truck.

I wouldn’t really worry about resale values. I drive high end trucks for work , king ranch, longhorn, high country, etc and get a new one every 2-3 years. I mount all kinds of crap in all of them like two way radios with mic holders on the dash, cellphone holders, cell phone boosters, fire extinguishers, etc. I drill holes everywhere and have never been dinged on trade in values because of it. Be cautious and do a professional job when mounting things but put what you want in your truck. Don’t drive it around for years not having it the way you like it because it might hurt resale value.

I suppose you could, but any hard braking, swerving, large bumps, wreck, etc..will send your pistol flying. Any of these actions could preceded the need to use said pistol.

Marathon seat covers makes a nice front pocket, open top. That's what I have on the Tundra. Quick access, even if it does look like you're grabbing your crotch.

Remora between seat and console for me.
