Just went out the back door took 1 step and didn't stop sliding for 20yards. some rock under ice finally stopped me. I didn't hit the concrete. It was going to hurt -
But i lucked out. Not going out that door for a few days.

Be careful out there .

The most dangerous area on the ranch is the 6 to 7 feet of concrete out the back, northwest-facing door of the house. 'Tried to split my head open during the big freeze 2 years ago.

Busted my tail yesterday on travel trailer aluminum steps. Lucky I didn’t get hurt, other than some strained muscles.

It is getting worse here in Gillespie County. We had some ice yesterday but today even the caliche or hard pasture roads are slick as owl poop. Going up steeper hills is not fun but coming back down is an adventure. Gravel areas are getting ice coated and slick. Having to bust ice in 21 water troughs twice a day is getting to be more of a challenge. Supposed to rain a little more this evening and tonight but finally get above freezing tomorrow. Then it is going to be a sloppy mess for a few days.
