Born in Lewisville in 1882- family moved to Grayson county shortly after, and I graduated from Howe HS in 2001. Damn, you’re older than Oxner.

Didn’t we all walk to school uphill both ways…in the snow…holding our clothes over our head so they’d stay dry?

Born in Graham, Texas in 1947. Grew up in the big city of Crane, Texas. Thank God it was before the internet. That was where I went to work in my Uncle’s machine shop when I was 14. Even thou I have had other jobs, most of my life has been spent in a machine one way or another. Moved back to North Texas in 1978 and back to Graham in 1985.

Born in Karnes City in 1956 but lived and grew up in northern Bee County. Spent as much of my preschool years and then grade school weekends at my grandparents farm in northern Live Oak county as my parents would allow. Roamed the small town area I grew up in on a bicycle. Hunted and fished at a young age and never stopped. Work took me to live in towns around South Texas from Beeville to Refugio to Alice to Portland to CC to Sandia to north of Sisterdale to north of Hondo to north of Columbus to east Cotulla to north of Berclair to Brady to NW Gillespie county now. Nowadays I still enjoy hunting, don't fish near as much, looking for artifacts and photography when not working. Miss the simplicity of the younger years but would not change a thing about the road it took me to get to today.

Born in OKC circa 1963 and lived there through junior high. We spent most of our time outside playing football, baseball, and riding bikes. Learned to hunt with my cousin and uncle who were big bird hunters. Life was pretty good and I still have great friends from there that I see when possible. Parents both worked for oil companies, and we moved to Ada for their work about the time I started high school. In Ada, we spent a huge amount of our time in the woods, exploring, fishing, and hunting. Also got heavily into dirt bikes there and that passion has continued through my adult life. Unfortunately, I do not get back to Ada very often, but still have a large group of friends who stayed in the area. Went to OSU and after graduation lived back in OKC, Amarillo, and then Tulsa where I married a Tulsa girl. We spent time in Tulsa before moving to Durango, CO for a few years, and have been in Texas since 1999.

70's and 80's on 2.5 acres 7 miles north of Downtown Houston. It was very wooded and next to a school yard. Every kid in the neighborhood played ball in our yard at some point. Baseball, football, and basketball. My dad had it all set up. There is a huge oak tree where we had a 3 story treehouse and tire swings. They left a pile of dirt in the front yard that we use as a ramp for our bikes.
Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

Grew up in the 70s & early 80s in Cibolo, TX. Back when I remember the census signs on Dietz creek bridge going from Cibolo and to Schertz showing one town with about 2500 and the other with less than 500. We lived in town but spent more time on my grandmother's farm then home it seemed....working like a beat down mule. Had a great childhood and parents that were stern but very supportive and loving and supported us in every sport we played whether they enjoyed the sport or not.
Along with working on the family farm we had a huge garden at home and at the farm and the only damn tiller my old man had until I was 16 or 17 was us boys on spades! On top of that, I worked at the local feed mills/stores in town and also took care of about 8 or 10 lawns in the old neighborhood.
We were far from rich but didn't know it because we ate extremely good and were always hunting and fishing when not working or playing sports.
High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

Born in the hollers of Eastern Kentucky Appalachia. Dad was an OTR trucker and I got to travel all over with him before I started school and during the summer. Pretty well-traveled kid by the time I was seven. It was about that time that jobs dried up and dad migrated our family to Houston in search of better economic prospects during the oil boom of the late 70s and early 80s.
We settled on the northwest side when 290 was basically a small 4-lane highway and the majority of Cypress-Fairbanks was still cow pasture. Played Little League and then Pony League baseball while growing up and added football once I got to junior high (I think my single mom must have lived at the ball fields). Graduated from Jersey Village and went to Stephen F. Austin for a few semesters before enlisting in the Army. Did six years, made Staff Sergeant (did most of my growing up here), then went into the "Green to Gold" program at SFA's ROTC battalion. Earned my commission and came over to the Dark Side. 20 years later, I'm here in Korea commanding one of the Army's largest battalions.

I was born in 1972 in San Angelo. My folks moved to Junction when I was 1. I spent my entire childhood there and graduated from JHS. Off to Angelo State U then I met my wife (an Aggie) and lived in a couple of different places until we arrived at BCS.
From the age of 1 to 18 I lived out in the country, across the river, and up the dirt road. I hunted and fished and rode a Kawasaki KD80 all over that place. I miss a lot of that time, but the world has changed. Some for the better; some for the worse.
