Looking to get the .204 Ruger. The caliber seems interesting to me.

What is your thoughts on Semi to bolt?

Who builds the better rifle?

Thanks in advance.

It's a great little round. 30-32 grain bullet over 4000 fps, and a 40 grain bullet about 3700-3800 fps in 24". I'd go bolt over semi, but it depends on your application. If you reload, brass case life is very poor. You'll need to anneal the case necks often to keep them from splitting. And they show pressure VERY quickly when working up a load.

I've got a bolt action Rem700 in .204 that I really, really like. Thing shoots lights out. Hunting buddy has Rem R-15 in .204 that he really likes.

Both have their advantages. His is great for follow up shots on doubles, but mine is lighter and not nearly as loud to load.

I personally don't see anybody "laying down cover fire" with a .204 with ammo cost. If you like to rapid shoot, I'd lean more towards a .223.

Not seeing many of these around anymore., Unless you are wanting to build something, I think your only options are going to be a Ruger or Savage.

Good luck!!
