Those are very nice rifles and command a premium.

Is it a "Deerstalker" model? You might get near $1K for it the ways prices have changed.

Pass the gravy.

The last one I had I sold for $1100 at the Tulsa gun show. Had a lot of offers 800-900 before someone finally gave me what I wanted. That was a year ago.

I've had mine for years. Just refinished it after a stock repair. $1k easy for starters.[Linked Image]

Thanks Earl! It broke a chunk out behind the receiver. You can see it glued back in place in the first pick. It was pretty shocking when it happened. Good to go now. These are fun rifles.

It's common for them to split back there. That's why a better buffer is always a good move. Think of it as a giant 10/22 in .44 Remington Magnum. Obviously the value is higher if the walnut stock is unblemished and OEM finish but they rarely are since they have been out of production for years.

Pass the gravy.

Agree. The stock where it mates with the back of the receiver needs to be somewhat free floating as well... so with the violence of the bolt blasting g back you avoid stress on the stock. Also helps (for me moving forward) to not load so hot and back off a bit!

Wanted to add there is a steel brace/plate/buffer behind the reciever that threads into the back of the stock. This absorbs the action impact. Needs to be free floating between this plate and the stock.

The forends are thin and also crack. Mine did and I repaired.
