other than "as big as possible" any experience out there with youth size calibers in niagli terrirory? My sons primary rifle is a .243 with 100grn nosler partitions which has been gloriously sufficient for all deer encountered but we've been putting in for the youth drawings in the lower rio grande area. The deer i think we'd still be fine on with the .243 but no idea what that round would do to a nialgi. shot placement would be important as always but even with good shot placement in the forward section of the shoulder would this get it done? probably going to see if ican get them to graduate up to the .270 at least to try and prepare for the day we might get drawn.
