I am wanting to build an 6mm ARC, what is the difference between the two? I've never heard of the 6mm Grendel until now.

6mm Grendel is the same as 243 LBC , 6mm Predator , and any other necked down 6.5 Grendel

6ARC is a totally different animal, the shoulder is pushed back and it has less powder capacity

You can’t shoot 6ARC in any of the other cartridges mentioned above

What velocity are you getting with the 90's and what powder, please?

What you are describing on making brass is exactly the same way I make brass for the 6 ARC from 6.5 Grendel. I run the 6.5 Grendel thru the 6 ARC resizing die and get perfect 6 ARC brass. So I don’t understand why you say it is a different animal.

You hornady 6 ARC dies and made with the pushback shoulder dimension that differs from 6mm Grendel, 6mmAR, 243 LBC, 6mm Predator

You’ll never get a 6mm Grendel load to chamber in a 6 ARC and you’ll wish you hadn’t put a 6ARC in a 6mm Grendel

Check out some reamer specs on the two cartridges.

Hornady did the shoulder pushback to corner the 6 ARC reloading market

It cost shooters a bit of powder room

I have only shot about 200 6arc that I converted from 6.5 Grendel. You run them thru a 6arc resizer and they drop right in the chamber. You better google making 6arc from 6.5 Grendel

He doesnt use a 6 ARC resizer, its a 6mm Predator die.

Look at 6 ARC vs 6mmAR , specifically the distance from base to shoulder .





6ARC is 1.1207” vs 6mm AR which is 1.1456”

The shoulder is “pushed back” on 6ARC by Hornady for their own marketing/sales purposes.

My point in mentioning this in my sales ad is so folks understand that 6ARC dies can’t be used to make 6mm Grendel cartridges (for safety)

I’m not debating the reloading process being different , both calibers are simple one step die processes

I am not sure what your point is. I make 6ARC from 6.5 Grendel. I don’t know what 6AR
Is nor do I use any of that brass. I resize the 6.5 Grendel and check each one in a 6ARC Wilson Combat checker. I load the brass with Varget and Sierra Gamechangers 90gr.
They shoot fine in the 2 AR’s that we have in 6ARC.
