I thought they were talking about Stripers, until I saw some pictures. coffee spelled backwards is eeffoc. I don't give eeffoc until I have my morning coffee.

Stockton and I lived there until I was 8. I remember catching them by the hundreds around the Pecos high bridge. They would run up the Pecos out of the Rio Grande. Everyone called them sandies or sand bass. That’s about as far away from DFW as you can get. I then moved to Brady where I graduated and everyone called them white bass. Both very rural areas. I plan to target whitebass with the fly rod this year down at Colorado bend and at Ray Roberts. My absolute favorite place to fish the run is on the Sabine River near Carthage. I would bet $$ that the Sabine produces the biggest whitebass in the state.
