Recently picked up a two burner propane stove and dual cast iron grille and griddle in advance of next season. Will be cooking in my camper with adequate air ventilation. Besides hot dogs, Brauts, burgers and steaks, what are some other easy to cast iron grille or griddle breakfast, lunch and dinner meals? Looking to save some $$$ on always eating in town. Thanks.

Breakfast bone in pork chops with onions and mushrooms are delicious. Tacos, soft or crispy and fajitas.

If you have electricity you can fix some good stews or chili.

Approve of the Modelo, not so much on the sardines.

Put butter in that cast iron skillet and fry steak / backstrap.

That was a quick lunch at camp one day last week and I was certain many of you would appreciate my fine culinary standards.

Second the hash browns, and the leftovers keep a day or two. Any grilled sandwiches like Reubens or grilled ham and cheese do great, and a big cup of tomato soup with cheese tops it off. Fresh liver or heart with onions, for those that like that. Venison stir fry, and fried spaghetti with veggies. Prepare your favorite meals at home and vacuum seal them in boil in bags - then you just have to boil water, and use the left over hot water for doing dishes!!

Crockpot Sauce Piquant

1 bag seasoning blend
2 lbs cubed deer stew meat
12 oz tomato sauce
12 oz spicy Rotel
6 oz tomato paste
Sliced baby Bella mushrooms

Salt, pepper, garlic to taste

Leave on low all day, serve over rice after evening hunt.

I’ve made a roux and followed our more traditional recipe, but my son can’t tell the difference. He always requests this for one night when at deer camp.

We cook breakfast pretty much just like most people. Frying pans and griddles are handy. If no using breakfast sausage or panas, meat left over the night before is typically served on the side of eggs or in as a taco. Prefer Mixla tortillas.

Lunch is whatever it is going to be. Sometimes the House Cats will fire up the pit, but most time it is dried meats, cheeses and the like.

Dinner is where it is at and I try to cook most everything right on the open fire and then eat outside. Anita's, Fremins and Uncle Chris's are my friend. My cabin is about 75 yards from the fire ring and that is just too much of a hassle to cook veggies, potatoes and such on the stove in the cabin. Vegetables get placed on foil, add a little olive oil, season to choice and then put them on the grill. Have not cooked a potato yet this year.

If you have electricity a crock pot is always good to have in your cooking arsenal. Pot roast is a staple for me, easy to prepare the night before then let cook all day for a hearty meal that evening. If it's just a few people there will be leftovers for another night too. Cleanup is easy if you use the liners.
