I don't think in any circumstance could Glock be considered "Top Dog", except possibly reliability....they are on the lower end of mid tier pistols, are ugly, not ergonomic, have poor triggers, and zero factory upgrades. They have two pistol designs (single and double stack) and have done almost zero innovation in what, 20-30 years?
I'd go Sig and then M&P, but I think those two are very close. I don’t think Glock is the best pistol out there but LEO and military wise no company worldwide comes close to the amount of guns that Glock sells. The are the #1 selling pistol in the world, and the US both commercial and LEO they are also the top selling military handgun In the world.

I’ve never owned a Glock. I know they go bang, I just don’t really care for the way they look if I’m being honest. I do have the others on the list, and if my life depended on it, I’m grabbing my HK 45 USP Tac.

When you say "pistol" it means one thing, but when you say "handgun" it means Smith & Wesson. S&W makes them all (with the notable exception of a single-action), and they're damned good at it.
