In all my years I have never hunted anything but the regular deer season. The screenshot above is for my county. Is there anything particular about this special late season or is it as simple and straightforward as it looks?

I see it is does and anlterless or unbranched bucks. Can I just go hunt these from Jan 2 -15 or is there anything else to be aware of? It seems odd to me hiding out to hunt after the season ends on Jan 1st is all I guess.

Just make sure that is not for youth only or muzzleloader. The youth season extends past the regular season in my county.

Basically, the season for bucks other than spikes is over and does and spikes continues for 2 more weeks.

The antlerless part is there in case you accidently shoot a buck that has shed his antlers

Which is the legal way you get rid of trash bucks in AR counties if you can identify them!

The problem is they don't start shedding antlers usually until February. I personally have never seen a buck shed his antlers in January.

Took this picture of a buck two days ago. Stag buck in velvet all season, shed both of his. I'll see if picture attaches. [Linked Image]
