I started looking for a Savage 220 late this Fall since I wasn't going to make it home to Texas to hunt and most areas where I live are shotgun-only. I ended up finding a buddy getting rid of a 212. It took me until I stopped in Academy in Houston to find a single box of Hornady sabots, but maybe it will work for hunting next year.

I spent a lot of my Navy career in VA and they have a lot of shotgun only areas. I got an H&R Ultra Hunter slug gun. It had a rifled barrel and was drilled and tapped for a scope. Mine was the light weight model. It kicked like a mule on the bench since it was light. It really liked the Win sabot rounds which was a 50 caliber bullet with the plastic sabot in a 12 ga shell. Don't remember how may deer I dropped with it but it was a bunch. I sold it when I left the east coast. They don't make that gun any longer but if you can find a used one it would be worth considering.

There's a Savage 220 bolt shotgun listed here. Looks really good.
