We arrived at the WMA Friday morning and got all checked in. Once everyone was assigned a compartment, we were turned loose to start hunting. It was in the 40's and raining. Staff suggested we ride our compartment and get familiar with it since we were assigned the largest compartment. We spotted 1 javelina in a draw within 30 minutes, and it ended up being a group of 7-8. We parked the truck and walked a ridge to get a shot. The oldest made a good shot on hers and the rest of the group continued walking the draw. I grabbed the youngest and we started walking the next ridge and caught up with the group. She made a great shot and our hunt was done within the first hour. We had planned to camp Friday night but the temp started dropping and when flurries started flying, the girls decided that a hotel sounded like a good idea. It was a long drive, but a great hunt in awesome country.
