I didnt forget it, but I lost my coat about halfway into a walk-in hunt. Got to my spot by the water, busted through the ice near the bank (coldest morning of the year by the way), put the decoys out and then went to settle down and put my coat on.

When I realized I didnt have it I decided that I didnt do all that work for nothing, and I sat there shivering for the next 4 hours before packing up.

I wont wear it while walking on walk-in hunts becasue it will make me sweat, then that sweat turns into cold and then Im screwed.

Thats the thing about life, nobody gets out alive.

Ended up sacrificing an undershirt after realizing I was in a Pin Oak flat. Another plus for wearing layers. wink

Gate Key... LONG walk into and out of the lease.

On a deer hunt --- Rifle bolt. Not much use that way. And on another trip I forgot my clip. (At least I could fire it as a sinlge shot.) Pretty good at making lists now...

To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target.
