If you were to break down, like a broken belt or radiator hose or something, will they bring you the part if you know what you need? Or do they just want to tow your chit somewhere?
And is it worth $5 a month?

They'll tow you to an auto parts store...

I've had them for over 35 years and it's been worth it when I needed them.

How much do you value your time? I've towed thousands of vehicles and AAA was always the slowest to respond.

I’ve used them to tow me to a shop before but never to an auto parts store.

I'd have them tow me home where my tools are. Can take my wife's car to the parts store.

As long as it’s similar distance they will tow you wherever you want within limits of the plan.

Had them 16 years. I get my money back off discounts and hotels. They tow like 8 miles for free and then more per mile.

Depends on the plan.

I’ve had AAA for a long time, the RV policy. I get a few 60 mile tows, plus 1 200 mile tow a year. I’ve only needed 3 tows, wife needed 1. Never needed a tow with the RV, but did need one pulling the cargo trailer.
I’m sure some towing companies would show up faster, but I only need to call one number. Two of my tows were from my driveway to a shop, so time wasn’t a factor.

My plan is for 8 miles. Then I pay the difference if it’s 20 miles. But it’s not to much.

Not if you were 2-3 hundred miles from the house you wouldn’t. And who doesn’t have tools in their truck? I never go on trips without tools, granted, I couldn’t put a head gasket on on the side of the road but I have enough tools to do brakes, belts, hoses, etc on the side of the road

Yeah, I have the plan with 1 200-mile tow and 3 100-mile tows. I live in the middle of nowhere.

And you have parts on the side of the road? I spend 99.5% of my time within 25 miles from home. The other I can adjust for.

Hence the reason I asked if they’d bring parts to you, read the OP.

But yes, I carry some extra parts, not many, but a few. It’s 432 miles from my driveway to my driveway at the deer property and I have some extra responsibilities with me now is my reason for for asking in the first place.

You not going 25miles from the house is understandable why you would tow to the house

Ever called a tow truck cuz you were not sober... so you wouldn't drive home... instead of taking an Uber and having to Uber back to get your vehicle the next day?

I haven't had AAA in many years, but when I did I needed it. Came in handy. Like Thundervee my insurance includes towing. Vehicles warranties can even include towing.

I can fix it myself. Best thing dad ever taught me.
