Quiet opening weekend in SW Young County. Long sits in the blind and long drives on back roads where we normally see deer, and there was just no movement.
But awesome friends, food, and weather. I must be getting old because the lack of deer did not stop me from having a fun weekend.

Nice sunrise or sunset, I was out hunting around Murray yesterday morning and it was an awesome, calm 37 degrees. Pretty quiet on my property, had a 2.5 yo 6pt. feeding for a hour or so and young doe come by that he scent checked but showed not a ton of real interest. Saw an older doe a little later. Did hear 6-8 shots within 1-2 miles of me so things were kind of active.

There is more to hunting than killing. Fresh air, wildlife, birds and friends. Only thing that sucks are wasps. Everything else is icing on the cake. You're not getting old, just wise !
