Is anyone running a 22” barrel on a 28 Nosler any pros or cons to it?

You'll obviously lose some speed from the 26". But the 26" can send a 195gr at 3050 fps. So 100 fps loss, and it is still a 12 pound sledge hammer.

My main 28 Nosler ammo for a large customer runs 23" barrels suppressed, and the 195's run 2980 fps. There's a little room to go faster, but that's where it shoots good. I think the 180's run ~3100 fps. You can push them faster, with the slower burning double base powders.

My 26” 1:8.4 twist 28 Nos is running the 195 EOLs w/ IMR 8133 at 3008fps avg. Barrel has around 50 rounds through it. 22”, as mentioned above will put you around 60-100fps slower.
I am on the same page as Bobo. Next barrel will be 22” w/ a can.
