Hello,
Does anyone have a recommendation?
I can google them up, but there’s nothing like first hand experience.
Thanks in advance!

It'll be on the high end, but 5 oaks is a great outfit.

I would look around for someone doing flooded timber off of Toledo Bend Res. Had some awesome ducks hunts back in college on that lake.

You can find guides on public land that can put you on some really good flooded timbet hunts. The problem is, water, if its dry, like this year is looking to be, their options are limited. Wet years and everyone can spread out and your odds of having good hunts increases significantly.

Over the years for every ten guys I’ve known that went around one or two had a worthwhile experience and some of them have spent $$$$$ just to be dissapointed.
I’ve never known hardly anyone that went and said the experience met their expectations.

IMO, you will get what you pay for on a flooded Timber hunt.
I'd steer away from the cheapest hunts you can find.
And if your guide tells you there are no ducks in the timber, and offers to take you to a field with birds, listen to him if you want to shoot ducks.
We usually go on a hunt every year and have hunted all across the country. We are 0 for 3 hunting Arkansas with 3 different outfits.

this is what is most likely to happen. Its dry up there and while I understand and get the concept of using guides for out of state hunts, its just my .02 but might be better off scouting couple days on public WMA's in areas that have water. If there are any. Heck it was dry last year and I don't think its improved any. Good luck and enjoy. Arkansas timber hunt is a must do at least once for the serious duck hunter.
