I've got all next week off!

I'm taking Sep 1 whole day, Sep 2 afternoon to take my son out, and Sep 4 afternoon so we can head out west and scout before Sat AM.

I can't vote since I am leaving about 9 am to drive out west to hunt the afternoon.

I'm retired and hunt out the back door. So, I guess I'll be out there from Sept 1st until...........................

I am actually going Sept 2nd, cuz my dad has to work. I dont really think it will matter much though. I am starting to get very excited. This will be my boys first hunt of any kind!

I have to drive to Brownsville that day, but I'm going to start my day with a short hunt.

My boss is bringing his boy hunting with me opening morning, so I'll be out there Sept 1. I'm pretty fortunate to have a boss that has priorities!

I like those binos, I own a pair and love them!

i live in the south zone but my girlfriends family owns leases in the north zone so idk if hunting is considered a date but thats what we are ganna do haha!!!

There's no better feeling than being in the field in North Texas early on day 1, hearing all the 'booms' from every direction . . . .


Last year, I had a coyote come running across my field about 7:30am, constantly looking back over his shoulder, obviously 'spooked' out from his den/bedding place by all the shotgun fire from the neighboring fields/hunters. I sat motionless at the tree/fenceline for about 3 minutes as he was coming right towards me - waited till he got about 20 yards away, then smoked him with a #4 shot cartridge that I was able to ease into the chamber as he approached . . .

Taking off 8/31 for leisurly travel,
9/1 for, well you know.
