OP RedSnake Extreme Tracker Joined: May 2010 Posts: 4,073 DFW / Roosevelt, Tx	Just wrapped up an awesome private land hunt in Clayton, NM. Was fortunate to get both an elk and a mule deer. Great ranch and great people. We spotted the elk herd of 45 elk feeding up out of a canyon onto the prairie land and were able to make a stalk to within 350 yds of the herd. Took the bull at 380 yds with a 6.8 western with a Berger 170 EOL. This am we starting glassing a large CRP field and found a group of 6 muleys about 3/4 mile away. We initiated a stalk and followed them 1.5 miles until we got within 250 yds — 6.8 Western and a 126 gr hammer hunter. Buck took 3 steps, turned a 180 and dropped.
