The dealer claims they decided not to do a giveaway and agreed to park a truck there as advertising and the tournament organizer didn’t change the “win a truck with a hole in one,” signage. The club/tournament organizer won’t respond with a comment, which seems fishy.

Jay Hodge for ya,,, , he sure didn’t mind getting the advertising from it nor did the CC. Someone will be paying along with lawyer fee’s so they might as well avoid the extra charges and fork over the cash.

You would think the course, tournament and dealership would just all chip in to avoid the long drawn out legal hassle. confused2

Yes. I don’t feel it’s worth mine or the court’s time to argue about a prize.

My oldest is a club pro and was playing a pro-am in Socorro, NM, NM Tech Golf Course, made the hole in one necessary to win but he is cheap bastardo and didn't pay the fee....I think he was adopted by his mom.....

I would sue them out of principle. If it was advertised, pay up. They'll lose more money over the bad publicity than they would by just giving him the truck.

I worked with a man whose dad made a hole-in-one. The prize was a loaded Chevrolet Suburban.
When it was time to get the Suburban the dealer wanted him to take a base model.
He said NO. The expensive model was displayed as the prize and he wanted it.
I don't know what happened, but he got the expensive one.

You must not be a golfer.

TG I ain’t one of those golfers. I lean more to the Sneakster’s point of view on this one.

Seriously though, they should stand behind what they said they’d do.

Yeah. I wouldn't go to court over winning a Ford, and not getting it.....

Soooo the dealership let the Golf course use it as a display. The course used it as a hole in one contest, so the course should be responsible for the truck.

Sneaky, you sound just like that cheap bastage Richard S. who owns Canyon West golf course. Sounds like some lame BS he would pull to save a buck or two.

Throw Hudbone in that same category.

I am not, thank God.

How so? I don’t own a golf course, and I honor my word. How do my statements in this thread lead you to believe I am a cheap bastard? I would think a cheap bastard would be the one suing over being cheated out of some sort of financial gain, but I’m not the type to sue people over trivial things, so I’ll need your help, here.

Read the dealer shared the promo on FB and even liked the post promoting the giveaway. It'll cost the dealer more in reputation.

This guy should go out of his way to prove a point. He should go to all kinds of trouble and I hope he gets something for having done so.

The let down must've been horrible. Don't know how much more horrible I would want to go through. All you scorched earth guys can carry on for whatever it is worth and don't worry about any "opportunity costs".
