I had a total left knee replacement June of this year. So I am about 4 months post surgery. I seem to being doing well However, the hamstrings on that knee are still tight. Not really just tight, not elastic, and its the lower portion, just above the back of knee.
I can get the knee limber and fully extended when I walk but the next morning. Knee is tight again. Plus, back of knee is painful when I bend my knee past 105 degrees. Doc not extremely alarmed.
Anyone with similar experience?

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

I've had 2 on the same knee and never had a hamstring issue. Totally different set of nerves and muscles on the back and front. Are you still doing PT?

Finished out patient PT about 6 weeks ago. Going to gym 3 or 4 times a week. Recumbent bike, eleptical and light weights. No one seems overly concerned. Seems everyone recovers differently. Doc reminded me I am only 4 months into a 12 month recover.
Also, seems like best resource is guys with replacement knees.

had both knees replaced .I had one rehab exercise where I laid on my back, put a rope around my foot then pulled up stretching the hammy. you are probably already doing this because it's a pretty common PT exercise. I was lucky and didn't have what you have. Stary in touch with your Doc, maybe ask for an x-ray for peace of mind

I saw ortho surgeon Oct 12. She was not concerned with tightness behind knee. Continue to working on range of motion.
Short story, increased hanging left heel stretch and installed a heel wedge in right shoe. Seems to making progress.

for every stereotype there's a prototype don't be the prototype

Find a good massage therapist that has experience with rehabilitation. Sounds like your hamstrings need some lengthening. Massage can help with that process, but stretching would be key. May talk to your PT and see if yoga is something they'd recommend. I have several clients that have had knee replacements and between seeing me and doing yoga, they are doing extremely well.
