POF has been making a 15 size 308 for quite some time now. In two models, the Revolution and the Rouge. This appears to be a copy of that, and while I can't speak to the Ruger, my POF runs good and has killed many a salty corn bandit.

Yep, and the POF is almost a pound lighter.

Interesting they are available and there is no price gouging. I figured people would be lining up to get them.

OKStateFan just bought one this week. He got his for $995 I think down near Corpus. Awesome looking package. I'd be a player, but the old shoulder hates .308 these days. Recoil on that bad boy is gonna be memorable unless they have a secret I don't know about.

As Kelly mentioned, I picked up the 16" version from Americana Arms, Beeville, TX for $999. I have not had it to the range, so I can only comment in initial impressions.

I've been looking for a carbine like this for years. I knew about the POF, but never found one in stock at a LGS. In my attempts, I have owned: 20" Armalite AR10, 16" DPMS Recon 2, 16" Sig 716 Patrol, 18" M&P 10, and a 16" LaRue OBR. It was the same story for all of them; They were great at the range, but they got too heavy to carry comfortably all-day.

With an empty 10rd magazine, VTAC padded sling, Sig Tango6 1-6 in AMD qd mount, it is right at 9lb 1oz. I did change the Magpul SL-K stock for a CTR. The stock trigger is quite good. I usually replace AR triggers with the SSA or MBT2S, but I'm going to leave this one alone. I don't own a pull gauge, so I can't give that data.

The choice between 16" and 20" was very simple. They had the 16" in stock and had they had yet to receive a single 20" rifle.

I will update with range data once available. This is not the rifle that I will be mag dumping. I'm fairly conservative with my 308 ammo, and may only shoot ten rounds per outing.

So I shot mine today. Friggin LOVE it. Shooting suppressed the design of the bolt vents gassed out of the side of the gun. No blow in your face.
Very accurate. Trigger is great. Recoil is not near as bad as I thought. Really like this gun!

Now y’all got me wanting one

I hated my old AR10, juice wasn’t worth the squeeze

I walk a mile to the stand, another mile back
