I thought I'd bump this as my mom sent me a very cool pic today regarding a story my grandfather had told me many times before he passed away seven years ago. Back in the mid-70s Loretta Lynn was playing a lot of high school and college gymnasiums, especially in Kentucky. While my immediate family migrated to Houston in 1981, we are originally from West Virginia and northeastern Kentucky, "Appalachia." Of course, when Loretta came to play at your local high school, it was a big deal... parades, etc. Apparently, she played in my hometown twice (not sure if it was the high school both times) back then and my grandfather would tell me stories of when he drove Loretta in the local parade both times. I always believed him, but it was still hard to imagine him being so lucky (actually, minus the combat experiences and MoH, I liken him to Forrest Gump...he led an incredible life!).

Well, now I have proof! Below is a pic of him actually driving Loretta Lynn in the local parade. I have a lot of priceless memories and heirlooms he left me when he passed, and now, I have another.
