Real classic vintage Rem Model 721 in .30-06 SPRG. Made near 1950 likely, same owner at least since 1970, fired maybe 1 or 2 times a year, many years zero, none since 2003 or so. Metal is excellent. Redfield base and rings.

$625 FTF Austin or a bit north, some ammo available. Possible trade for Vaquero 45LC or 357

I still have my Dad's in the safe with the K4 Weaver classic indeed.
In it's day that gun and scope combo was the cat's a*s.

I keep looking at it. I need another rifle like I need another hole in my head. bang

Shouldn't last long. Is that a Pachmeyer recoil pad?

That pad is marked "Cullum & Boren Co, Dallas, Texas" and says Pachmayr in another area. That was a well known sporting goods store in Dallas in years past...

My dad bought his in 1962, used from a gunship in Tyler (Rennolds) for the large sum of $120. Had a Tasco 4X scope in Weaver rings. I bought him a Leupold 3X9 in the 70s. The first 8 shots with that rifle while hunting killed 8 deer. After my father past on , I have it to my youngest son. It still shoots under a inch at 100 with factory Corelocks. Great old rifles that I think were better than the 700s.

Great family history and a classic American rifle. The only one my dad ever hunted with in my lifetime, in many Texas counties. I don't think it has ever left the state.

Revised the manufacture date to 1950, if I read the barrel code correctly.
