Just drew Trinity River NWR Brierwood and I'm looking for tent camping options nearby. Hunted there after years ago and drove back and forth. Not really looking to do that this year.

Congrats on the drawing. Not really any camping very near that I know of. Google maps should finds something for you though in the Sam Houston National forest Double lake is probably the closest that I can think of. Good luck!

For about $150 a night, you can stay at The Retreat At Artesian Lakes, or maybe find someone with 1a lease that you can camp on.

Dozer, mulched, and trackhoe work. Fencelines, senderos, tanks. Let me know if I can help with any dirtwork or construction.

I had the same issue during the Muzzleloader hunt last year. I live 1 hour 45 min away and could not drive back and forth . I could not find anything within 40 minutes to tent camp, so ended up getting a hotel room in liberty about 25 min away . The room rate was below $ 80.00 and the 2 rooms I stayed in during my 2 hunts were pretty nice . I think it was the Travelers inn. I hope you see more Deer & Hogs that I did During 6 Days of hunting . I was over a Mile in at Brierwood on the left Trail and seen One doe and 1 hog on my first day and nothing after that .
Good Luck

It flooded out the days I had drawn, I was going to camp along the river.

Thanks for the info. It looks like I'll be staying in a hotel also. I went a few years ago before tpwd started doing the drawings and someone was camped along the river. I'm not sure if that would be a possibility. I'm surprised you didn't see anything. I only saw 2 deer but I saw well over 100 hogs. That place was loaded with hogs. That was during bow season though.
