Need a new one, haven’t had one in a couple years. Just for around the house to air up stuff, maybe an occasional nailer. Pretty much just something to set in the corner of my garage.

Craftsman? Porter cable? Bostitch?

I have M18 batteries, but not paying 379 for a Milwaukee compressor

Ingersoll Rand

Nothing oil-less, loud as horse shoes in a dryer.

My wife has a side business making custom upholstered benches. She uses the below and uses it 5-7 days a week for the past two years. I’d say it gets commercial use. She goes through 600-1000 upholstery staples a week. She uses it in the house. She gets up at 6:00 am and doesn’t wake anyone up with it.

I’ve got a small 2 gallon ish Kobalt from Lowes. It’s actually a great little compressor. Runs like a pancake compressor with a slightly larger tank.

I'm going to suggest that some of these compressors may be made by the same company, but with different labels. I bought about what you are suggesting a couple of years ago.

It is a V-Twin, belt fed, Porter Cable that I bought at Tractor Supply. Since that purchase I've seen many ads for DeWalt and others that look just like it. And it would not shock me if Ingersoll Rand made all of them.

Bottom line, don't get one of those oil-less buzzers unless airing up a tire is all you want to do.

I've been happy with my red Porter Cable. 150#, and good for all my smaller jobs and nailers. It will run my air chisel. For 1/2" impact wrench or spray painting cars, I have an 11 gal tank from Harbor Freight I use in line for extra capacity.

Might wait until black Friday. I got a Porter Cable for cheap a few years ago.

For the past few years we have been buying Makita Portables exclusively we have had really good luck out of these we change the oil in them about twice a year they really hold up well. I have not had good luck out of store brand compressors. I have an 80 gallon husky in my shop it has been okay. If I were to buy a large stationary compressor today it would hands down be a Quincy

I've never owned one, but I've heard California Air is the way to go if quiet is what you want.

I bought a Metabo 6 gallon yesterday for $199, that was $50 off at Lowe’s. Ran it for 8 hours, seemed to do its job just fine.

If looking for something in the 15-30 gallon size I’d either get the Kobalt or Ingersoll Rand.

If going 60+ gallons I’d go Ingersoll Rand

I haven’t been to Lowe’s yet. But Home Depot had a Rigid for 129.

I’ve had a porter cable for five or so years. Mainly use it for tires, but did use it to replace some trim in a few rooms. It’s loud, but I don’t use it that often or for very long, so I don’t really care. It’s been great.

I have a small Bostich that came as as set with a few tools, has worked solid for about 8 years, loud tho.

Any bigger and I agree with Jason and BP, Ingersoll Rand
