I found this a while back where I hunt n Blanco County. I know people always imagine something to be whatever they want it to be and I may be “that guy” here. Does this look like an old gun flint to y’all? I’ve made plenty of them and this one would fit right in. There are little microchips along both sides of the leading edge. More on the top where you’d expect to see them. What think y’all?'

Looks right. Could still be used with a bit of knapping.

Looks the part for sure.

Looks nothing like it to me. The ones I have seen have always been pretty much a perfect square, very thin, and much smaller than what I see in your hand. Something more along the size of a thumbnail but almost a perfect square is what you want to see.

How wide is it? The largest locks I can think of would take a flint no larger than 1 1/4” across the face.

Could be Dixie Gunworks sells different size ones for different guns. A quick look had them listed 3/8' to 1"+ basically about square on most but it all depends on the lock mechanism for your the gun

The top being flat is what to look for vs a thumbnail scraper.
