Have been to 3 different Academy's and 3 other gun shops between Beaumont and Corpus. The cheapest a case of dove shot I can find is $99.99 a case before tax. This is for the cheap Monarch stuff that I was buying last year for $50 a case. Is this what we should expect from here on out? It's not going to stop me from hunting, but I'm trying to figure out if I should buy a couple cases at that price of it's going to go up $50 more a case next year? Anyone know where to buy some shells cheaper?

Yep, I really don't think prices will ever go back down.

Was at academy a few weeks ago, they had 12 gauge 3" dryloks for $34.99 a box.
That's pretty steep, I think my last case was $225 total.

At some point it will be cheaper to use lead and pay the fine. I’ve been checked many times fishing, but never duck hunting.

The problem is. 5 and 6 shot lead is almost just as expensive as steel.

Yep, cost of target loads put a damper on my summer time sporting clays this year.

My dealer pricing on 12 ga dove loads is about that price. It's gone up over 50% -60% in the last year or two.

What place did you order from?

South Georgia Outdoors, I got the notification of shipment pretty darn quick as well, it'll arrive tomorrow.

Had a warden go through 10 boxes of shells in a duck blind looking for any shells with lead.

Actually he said 0%...for the month of July...0%....well actually the 0% means that it didn't go up any more...prices were flat...as long as you exclude food and fuel...

Just left academy and all Remington and monarch 12 and 20 gauge were $9.99 a box! Good luck finding 16 I heard from a clerk. The days of shooting a couple of rounds of clays for practice are over!

I managed to load up in early 2021 at about $5.50 per box. I should be set for years.

Appears to be. I just ordered a case from Academy, $117.00 with tax & shipping. Wasn't that long ago a case of shells was $40-$50 and there were no purchase limits, would grab 3 or 4 cases at a time.

If you can find it at Walmart, they have cheaper shells. I picked up 100 rounds for $34. It was $25 last year.
