I don't understand the logic. Polls are closed by tip-off. What person would think "I'm too busy getting ready to watch a basketball game tonight so I can't make time to vote?"

I'm all for making Election Day a national holiday...if they also cancel early voting.

You know, it's only a (short) matter of time before a federal holiday is demanded for the sexual orientation(s) we're all supposed to celebrate as superior to God's design. (The alphabet people.) The flags, HR bs, and pride month will never be enough. A holiday won't be enough. But that's the next step.

We cater far too often to the “kin folk” crowd. Part of our problem these days. Minority’s and their big freakin’ mouths.

Companies out west have made it a day off of work to go vote. I guess that many freaking people don't take the time to early vote because you only have a few months to do it!

When election turnout is "up" they can point to it and say - well see we cancelled games so all these good people can go vote.

I heard that a lot of school districts are going to make Election Day a school holiday for security reasons because so many schools are polling places.

Who the hell cares what the NBA does.

I've been done with them for a good while and have no plans to ever watch any of it again!
