Thought I would start a thread to see what everybody keeps at their hunting camp. From microwaves to heaters to refrigerators, let's hear some ideas that make life more comfortable when in camp!

#1, I do like a nice cabin setup... not into primitive camping anymore Definitely AC and a good heater, sometimes for the same trip. Rather have a big stack of seasoned mesquite than a gas grill, but an indoor kitchen is really nice on those really nasty days. Shower/toilet. Detached bath house we have is great. I got real tired of showering off with a bucket and finding a tree at my old lease. Water is a must, both for camp use and wildlife/livestock. I passed on a bunch of decent, but waterless places until I came across the one I bought. 4 good wells spread out across the place pretty much sold me. As far as electricity goes, I am using a diesel generator and portables, along with some solar until the power company lines gets within shouting distance. Be glad when they get a bit closer. Ranch vehicle I don't have to trailer in/out every trip. Security. Where I am you either lock up like Fort Knox, or just leave it open and leave nothing you value. I prefer the Fort Knox route. Satellite TV. Don't watch it that much, but real nice to have out there. Wish I had better Cell reception. We get very little. Might not tell the wife if it gets better though. First aid kit with everything I can think to put in it. Full stock of tools. Always something to work on. Compressor/tire patch kit/extra spares for ranch vehicles. I'm sure I forgot something I just can't do without... Doug

In my "Love Shack" I have a stove/oven that runs on propane, I use battery operated lanterns and stick up lights that run on AA batteries. Wash off baths however I can. I buy those bath wipes, that helps. Every now and then a guy will bring a generator. I can't afford one. Been camping/hunting like this for years and I'm just used to it.

Being able to take a warm or cool shower can mean the difference between staying another night or wanting to head for the house.
Satellite TV is great for catching those big games between hunts.
This summer I added a tin roof and porch over my trailer. I'm really looking forward to being put to sleep by the sound of a chilly, November or December wind and rain. Call me a wimp, but I always reserve the right to jump back in the bed when the mornings are better for sleeping than hunting. After all, deer deserve a morning off as well.

I too like the idea of a roof over the trailer, last place we had to trailers in an L and a roof over that area, it was nice, could be outside in the rain and dry, fourwheelers and gear under in bad weather, and will help trailer life too.

This year the bees and snakes and scorpions and termites finally won the battle for our old ranch house. We're trying to set up a trailer to take its place, so don't know exactly what all will be available yet...

I also keep one set of ammo, clothes, old boots, an old basic pack/gear and an old bedroll in a plastic box there too. And a good cleaning kit

I never go to the lease without a new box of mouse bait !

i've been looking into this.. i have Dish Network, so i can buy a portable dish that sits on a tri-pod and take it any where. (Cost $99.00) i can set it up at the camp house and bring my box from home. an additional cable box will cost me about $9 extra a month on my cable bill. i will most likely have to get this because the wife will want to watch TV while i'm gone.
