I'm going to put the first protein feeder out at our place which in Hudspeth County. We have a pretty good deer population for the area. 4,500 to 6,000 feet elevation so we get a decent amount of rain...meaning there is generally a pretty steady food suppy for the deer.
Anyone have an idea how quickly they'll take protein? From what I hear from neighbors, at this time of year they'll hardly touch it, and in January they'll be on it all the time. But I wanted to get an idea of how often we'll need to refill a 350 lb feeder. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.
I wish I was West of the Pecos today.

throw some sacks of corn in with the protein when youre first starting them off and they'll get used to it.
