Guys how are things shaping up in Young County here less than 2 months until archery season and 3 until rifle? Guessings things are still really dry although I hear some parts of the County have caught some decent isolated rains the last couple of weeks. Buddy tells me that my place near Murray was looking pretty green when he drove by last week which was a refreshing surprise to hear. What are you all experiencing, seeing?

I saw on the radar the other day, some cells moved over Young county and over our lease as the crow flies south of yours. Last time I was out there was 4 months ago when I took my dog Dash on his last trip before his cancer caught up with him, so have no idea how things look. Despite what little rain the area got, I am sure our tanks and creek are dry other than a couple deep holes. I am planning on spending more time at the lease this year, several days at a time, not just hunting, but fishing in the area too. Our landowner died, so not sure what the future will bring after this season. I trapped the coons hard after last season, but I bet they are back in force already so will start clearing them again in September so they don't eat all that expensive corn. I'll be out one or two weekends this month to check on things and will post a report on conditions.

We're near Eliasville and have had a good amount of rain this summer according to the LO. Going to try to put eyes on it a couple of weeks.

Got .3” in about 30min of rain. Temps dropped from 102 to 70 in about ten minutes while we were filling feeders. Ponds and the creek still have water but are all 2-4ft low. Deer are in good body conditions deposit how dry it is. Some oaks and elms are starting to brown on some ridges but the bottoms are still green except for the grass.
We are east of Graham.

My place is about 8 miles north of Murray. We have got scattered showers ,but no run off rain in my area. My ponds are just about dry ,but I guess enough moisture that deer are getting natural browse. Just got back yesterday & protein feeders still had more feed than I expected. North part of the county towards Olney looked alot worse that other parts. Eastern part of the county has been getting the bulk of the good rain & the habitat shows it. Deer look to be in good shape body wise.

I'm west of Newcastle about 9 miles. It's as bad I have ever seen it. Luckily our tank filled up end of spring so I am good in that regard, for now. However, I'm getting ready to have to start feeding hay, I probably should have already started. I normally start feeding around thanksgiving. If we can get some decent rain before the first frost, it will help. But its not looking very good. I don't know if I can afford the hay bill AND a water bill.

Feels real hit or miss out there, we are west of Olney and have had decent rain. It's worse than a normal year, but the pasture isn't near as brown as other parts of the state/county. Deer are all looking healthy, hopefully we get some widespread rain soon though.

Got out today for first time in 4-5 months, SW Young county. Things looked surprisingly greener than I suspected they'd be. Tanks in the area looked fairly low though. Lots of deer pics eating at feeders

Lots of deer pics eating at feeders I’m glad it looks green in SW Young county. It’s dry as a bone in east YC. The only green at my place is where my leach lines run. Tank is 3 1/2’ low. Just put Tbone out there yesterday. He’ll have all the green eaten down by tomorrow.

Headed to the Ranch in the morning. Been getting some showers so a little green up. What is hurting is no run off. One pond about dry & getting real worried on the other.
