I figured I'd start something new. Every Friday I will be showcasing fine guns built by craftsman from all parts of the world.

This week is French gunmaker Geoffrey Couderc, and a Browning Model 78 he built.

Oh my! I like that he kept the checkering fairly simple vs. a bunch of the scroll work some do.

Overall the fluer de lis stuff is an American gun thing. The Austrian and Germans do some elaborate stuff as well.
This gun above is stocked in the English style, so rather subdued and executed as well as can be.

Here is a 20bore Boss style O/U built by British maker Peter V. Nelson, and masterfully engraved by British engraver Phil Coggan. Something like seven different golds were used in the engraving to create the color differences.
