When I lived on the lake I fished every day I made it home before dark by myself or with whomever wanted to go. I have two boys now and haven’t fished alone in 10 years. When they’re grown I’ll still fish every chance I get, alone or not.

I fished a lot from the early 70's and into the early 90's...most of by myself. I lived on Lake Corpus Christi and fished it about 300 days per year for 3 yrs. Had family land about 14 miles from Choke Canyon and fished it a lot. Vast majority of the time by myself starting with stock tanks in the 60's to lakes later on in life. I never minded fishing alone.

I haven’t fished with any regularity in about 7 years. Sold my bay boat and only went a time or two a year since then, but I always fished with others. I think the last time I went fishing solo ( not fishing in a stock tank or river to kill time between meetings) was about 10 years ago when I made a solo trip or two to fish for trout in the Guadalupe). 99.5 % of my fishing has been with other people. Hunting by myself I have no issues with whatsoever.
Anyway, wife is gone, kids are gone and I’ve been meaning to run the boat, so I loaded up and headed to the lake by myself to fish for a few hours. It was actually enjoyable which I wasn’t expecting. Loading and unloading the boat was a PITA but it wasn’t the end of the world.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I love fishing, Saltwater the best but I caught a 10.2# Largemouth on Lake Fork, then I was on the quest for a lake record, never caught another over 3lbs.
The most fun was the anticipation, buying the right color Senko or paying $15.00 for a Yellow Magic that I would lose on the first cast.
Gotten to where I cant stand up for more than a couple hours, knees, back, feet. I just love being on the water

I do have a tournament this Saturday with my boy. Him and my daughter are about the only people I really enjoy fishing with. By myself I can fish exactly how I want and not worry about anyone else.

I have one boat partner. He is hard to get rid of because he always buys the boat gas. But if he can't go, I go alone. Much easier now since I put in the remote controlled TM with spot lock. Do you wear a mask when you fish alone? I do to protect myself from UV rays.

I have fished solo a lot. Occasionally have a back seater, but that doesn’t determine if I go fishing. I enjoy my time alone on the water. It does suck occasionally to have to take pictures of myself with a big bass, though. This one came out of Choke Canyon last Sunday. Dang, that's a nice one! Did you weigh it? Weighed seven pounds on the dot.

I think the last time I fished "with somebody else" was around 2015.
I love fishing alone, but with a buddy, or my DAD, would be great as well.

When I’m at the ranch I might fish alone or if we are camping at the lake I will throw a rod in the water. Can’t remember the last time I actually went to a lake strictly to fish by myself. I have some friends that have a boat so I will go out with them. Told the grandkids when they are good swimmers I will buy another boat so next year might be the year for one.

Saltwater in my flats boat, I don't mind being alone but also like having my boys out there with me if they want to come, now bass fishing, there's nothing like a little friendly competition with some of my good friends.
3's a crowd in any of these situations unless it's my boys.

I fished alone a lot when I was a kid. These days I prefer to have someone with me.

I don't fish but if I did it would be alone. I don't like to make small talk and when I'm out in the sticks I prefer silence over idle chatter.

Bout had rather unload my boat myself even if someone is with me cause some people just can't back a trailer. Lol. Keep my boat at Fork but may bring it home if Bois D Arc Lake gets good when it's opened up. Alone or with somebody don't make me no difference

I’ve got loading and unloading the boat down to a science. Me too. Of course my bullet proof gatortrax hull requires less science than a fiberglass hull.

I don't mind fishing by myself but it sure helps to have someone to back the truck up while loading and unloading.

As a young man, I traveled the world for 4 years by myself..
Now that sounds interesting. Tell us about that I have posted about it a lot, ski bumming in the 80's...2 ski seasons in Colorado, one ski season in Europe, and one ski season in Australia, and lost of fun in between, this is India 1986 on my way to Australia, stayed at Salvation Army for 35 cents a night.. Australia, Ski Lifty on break... Australia after ski season, traveled up the east coast on Yamaha 500's, sleeping on the beach every night... Season Ski pass in Europe/Austria... Swirtzerland... Colorado...Skiing every day for 2 years.. Hats off to ya man, cool pics and times You did a lot of the things most of us adventurously aspire to do but never had the discipline or guts to actually make it happen. There are a few of should of, could of regrets that I should have done when I was single with enough cash and time to make it happen
