What y’all think for best price and reputable.

I have used Tire Rack twice. My last purchase a few weeks ago was for 4 trailer tires I couldn't find locally. They ship same day, or next day. Pricing was good, and product selection and options were really good. After being a Discount Tire customer since I could drive, I will never use them again.

I often hear about Simple Tire as well.

Is discount tire direct the same as discount tire?

Yes but it’s how they sell tires in regions without stores.

Got a killer deal from Tire Rack on the last truck tires I bought.

I bought tires and wheels from them for my truck, they shipped them to my door mounted and balanced with the air pressure sensors and all

If you have a shop you trust to mount, Walmart.com . I often find discouted or clearance tires there , they will ship them for free to your house. Last few times I've ordered they have beaten discount tire by 5-20$ per tire.

That being said, I still hate walmart

Bought a set of clearance good year wranglers there a couple years ago for a ranger I had. $88/tire, Put 30k on them before I sold the truck.

I bought my Ridge Grapplers off Amazon for a great price... I would have been better off getting them from Discount Tire Direct as they were including mount/balance in the price.

I use a local tire shop near me. They are super fast, and are fairly inexpensive for mount and balance.




I had a tire going low due to a screw in the tire. I aired it up fully (from 20 psi) and headed to Discount. It threw the screw out of the tire as I was exiting the highway at the Discount. I pulled in quickly and parked with plenty of air in the tire. The tire went flat while I waited for them to get to my vehicle. The tech drove with it flat into the bay with multiple turns. I saw him do it, and went outside to tell him he could damage the tire doing that. After inspecting, the tech said I needed a new tire because it had chaffed the inside of the tire too much (which was very minor). The chaffing was from the tech driving my truck in when it was flat. It got down to 20 psi on me, but never flat enough to cause chaffing inside from the rubber rubbing inside when flat. The manager and I went round and round, and the tech lied to him about driving it in flat. There were 2 previous times they said I needed a new tire because they said they wouldn't repair it (simple plug or patch on the tread area). I took both to my local tire shop and they fixed both with no issues. Discount won't repair a tire due to law suits and such. And their answer is always to buy a new tire. And I hate waiting hours in their lobby for something simple. After the flat tire chaffing issue, I was done.

Discount bought tirerack about 1 year ago. I’ve used DT for years without any issues.

Tire Rack was better price, free road hazard and free roadside service for three years.
Discount won’t match that.

Walmart has been the winner last 2 purchases.....you can have them shipped to your nearest store for installation....

I quit going to Discount decades ago, for the same reason. I don't have time to wait for hours either

Too many other options, and worth it to save a few bucks, plus they don't do alignments either.

Speaking of alignments - better to get the alignment after or before installing new tires?

Nobody answered the question.....if ordering online, who mounts them, and at what cost? Discount has treated me very well.
