I have a 117 acre field that I work for sunflowers every year but don't utilize the field enough. I've decided to sell 12 season leases for dove hunting for $300 per person.
I start my hunts the Friday after September 1st unless the 1st is on a Saturday. So this year I open my season on Friday September 2nd and will run through Sunday October 23rd. I have strict rules about trash, spent shells and rutting up roads. If you don't respect my place and other hunters you will be told to leave and not return.
This field is large, so I will also have a few day hunters in it on the weekends sometimes, but I do not hunt it during the week with my day hunters, but season hunters will be able to hunt during the week, and I don't hunt it every weekend with my day hunters, in fact I run very few day hunts in this field. Some years this field has great sunflower and some years just average. It has one pond in the field, and neighboring ponds across the fence.
I have this ad in the Outfitters section priced at $400, but I believe due to the economy and gas prices it's not generating a lot of interest. So that's why I'm dropping it to $300. With the drought this year the sunflowers did not do very well, but I am seeing birds around here.

Stompy I can't lease it, but I'm glad you are seeing birds. You've earned it.

Dang gas prices is killing it for me too. FJB! I would be all over this knowing you and the way you farm for dove. Glad you are seeing birds my friend. I'm holding out hope for change still.

Got a few folks signed up this weekend, plenty of spots left. Let me know if I can help with season lease, day hunts or lodging. Thanks

Any pictures of this field? The sunflowers have been looking good around Breck, last time I went through.

With the drought the sunflowers didn't do very well, but I am seeing birds. Not sure where you saw good sunflowers but the southern part of the county has been dry. I know the northern part of the county has received more rain than I have.

Was fishing at a friends place between Breck and Cisco over the 4th and saw a lot of yellow fields coming out.

Was fishing at a friends place between Breck and Cisco over the 4th and saw a lot of yellow fields coming back. If those fields were on 183, a lot of those are already harvested or being harvested for Turner Seed. That area along 183 received more rain than I did. I drove through there yesterday, combines and cutters were going in several fields.

That was them. I know who owns those fields and they sell to Turner Seed every year.

Spots in the low areas has decent sunflowers. The whole field has sunflowers, but some didn't flower.

Stompy, where is the property in relation to Breckinridge, N,S,E,W? Would Breckinridge be the best option for lodging?

South of Breck, about 15-20 miles I think. Yes it would be your best bet for lodging.

Sorry, was out of town. I'm 8 miles SW of Breckenridge. And I do have limited lodging options. Thanks
