I love it. However, I was told by a gun shop, if you can grip and wrap your hand around it, it’s considered a vertical fore grip, angle or no angle.

Not saying your wrong, but you could wright a book on "I was told by a gun shop" , I've never put much stock in what a counter man had to tell me , I will however do my own due diligence and findout for myself. No offense to any ffl holders with specialty shops here, not aimed at you guys.
