Anyone had any ex with this bow? Think of buying one this weekend (replace old bear WT-11). It looks good, made by Bear, and 200-300 less than Mathews/Bowtech/Hoyt. Also, Cabelas has a good deal on them with gift-cards. Just can't see spending that much for a bow. Opinions of course are like something else, but I can ignore.

I bought a FB Instinct over the July 4th weekend at Cabela's. I'm pretty happy with the bow. I bought it as part of kit that Cabela's offered. It’s relatively quite and shoots pretty consistent. It shoots 240 fps with Easton St Epic Realtree 400 (blazer vane) arrows and 100 grain tips at 69 lbs and 27 ˝ LOD.

My only problems that had been reoccurring is the peep site I had Cabela’s install did not stay true and the loop they installed really stretched out. Cabela’s replaced the loop three times and twisted the cable three times. I had a local bow shop in Garland (Outdoor Pro Shop) twist the cable two other times as well. I finally had the local bow shop replace the loop again. They used material off of a drop away rest. It’s very tight and the problem has been solved.

In summary the bow is a decent deal, but Cabela’s bow shop just didn’t have the experience or didn’t take the time to set the bow up. They installed everything, let you get fairly close with your 20 yard pin and settled the bill and send you out the door.

The bow shop in Garland took the time to solve my problem, tuned my bow, and walked me through shooting fundamentals and overall care/maintenance of my archery equipment. In the end regardless of the performance of my FB Instinct, I wish I would have purchased my bow/accessories from the local bow shop. Their service is the difference. I will be buying a Mathews in two months – only because I want one. It will be from Outdoor Pro Shop in Garland………

Cant understand spending good money for great bow. What about a shot gun or deer rifle? You get what you pay for. I understand not everyone has that kind of money!! You need to guy a bow from a place that will let you shoot it before you buy. If you like it get. Good luck.

GSPbrad you string will stretch too causing some of the same problems.
