Sorry to hear that! Prayers for everyone affected.
I saw the heavy haze/smoke Saturday evening in Seymour, it was at ground level not high in the atmosphere. I was worried we had a fire close by, then learned it was in Palo Pinto.

They should be banned when it is dry like this. My neighbor's house burned to the ground because the drunks next door were being stupid with fireworks. He lost his dog and almost his son and daughter-in-law.

I’d be more worried about ventilation then fireworks.

It’s internal combustion time of year. Hay goes boom!!

In my firefighting days I can remember several fires caused by round bales going boom due to internal combustion.

Have some friends at camp right now…our cabins and ATVs are all good. Literally EVERYTHING around our camp is completely burned up. Looks like the only thing we lost in the camp area is our cleaning station. Unbelievably thankful for those guys doing what they’ve done and it’s a huge relief that they were able to save our camp area. No update on our blinds yet, but at this point we are just relieved to still have what they saved.

That's good to hear. Wife and I make donations to all the VFD's in this area every year.

We are at the end of the Rhodes Ranch road and our camp suffered heavy losses. All 4- wheelers and a side by side. One of our camp houses gone. Really sad to hear all the damage done. Only good thing is no loss of life that I have heard. Need to keep praying they get it under control.

glad to hear things were saved and no one was injuried.

but this raises a question in my head. What if the fire had gone thru your camp (like tdbduckhunter above), do ya'll carry any kind of insurance on things your leave at your lease in case something like that did happen?

We do not have insurance coverage but I will be doing my best to get it now!

Tdbduckhunter, I’m very sorry to hear you guys took losses like that. We are obviously hunting neighbors so let me know if there is anything me and my guys can do to help y’all out. We’d be happy to do so. Are you part of the big camp near 180?

I tried several years ago and wasn't able to find anyone to do it. Your UTV and ATV can be added to your existing insurance, but for structures or their contents, I was told no. I even inquired about renter's insurance to cover things like appliances and furniture and was again told no. If you do find something, I would be very interested in hearing about it.

The Graham & Young Co. VFD’s are both at the Dempsey fire. They reported it was 113 degs. Friday and 115 degs. On Saturday.

Yes we are up by Metcalf. I called my insurance this morning and told me nothing they can do. I did not have any of the four wheelers or side by side’s, but my buddies did not have insurance so they are out on getting any help. Again really glad no one has been injured, but the lose of most of our things still stings.

Glad everyone is OK. Sorry for all the losses.

Sorry to hear of your losses tbcduckhunter. We didn't have any insurance either when the fire destroyed our camp.....no fun, but thank God it had rained or it would've burned no telling how many acres.

Wildfires are never good...especially when we are as dry as we are now and with all the high winds we are having. Glad no one has been hurt in the first but loss of property is bad enough.

Stinks to hear about this, adding insult to injury knowing the loss wont be covered by insurance.

We insured our Polaris crew through Progressive I believe as well as our RV. We have USAA but they sub out recreational vehicles to progressive. I would hope they would cover a scenario like this, I’ll have to double check. I would look into it, I don’t believe the monthly price was substantial so gives us peace of mind.

Hoping y’all can get back at it and get some enjoyment from your places as the year goes on.
