I makes you sick the amount of old large Live Oaks that are dying. Luckily, I have some equipment to work on them with.

Been there to the tune of $60,000. Insurgence covered all but the deductible.

A lot of trees are being bulldozed in my county not because they are dying but to make room for more freaking housing developments.

My previous house in Oak Point had two old mature oak trees in the front yard. My buddy that lives down the street sent me a picture of them being cut down. Oak wilt disease. We designed that house for that lot to keep those trees when we built it.

I've had a crew out for a year taking all of mine down. They've likely got two years left, maybe three. They took nearly a hundred stacks out of one pasture. You can't see them all but there's about 60 stacks here:

Not many live oaks in our area but I've lost 2 post oaks recently.

Yep.

About 3 years ago....my brother (and his Wife) bought a beautiful (and very expensive) Lake Lot on Travis to build their retirement home on.

They were planning on building this Summer after his wife retired (he had already retired). In the mean time EVERY Live Oak on the property (and surrounding properties) succumbed to Oak Wilt. Probably 50+ trees on his lot.

I have a lot on my new place in Gillespie County....by a lot I mean 100's if not a 1000 or more dead oaks. My friend had a dozer and trackhoe removing dead oaks for over 3 yrs about 8 yrs ago on his place next to mine. That is all they did 5 days a week was stack and burn dead oaks. They could do that again now after the past year or two of dead trees. NW Gillespie County is as bad as it gets with dead oaks....wilt, decline and drought are doing a number on trees. You can slowly see it working it way across a pasture year to year.
Here is a pic of trees that died this year. This is a very small part of what has died.

The county took out all of my oak trees along the road. Those were the only trees I had. County aget called it sudden oak death. You couldn't get your arms around a fourth of some of them. Really old trees. Just a shame, makes me sick.
