I found an old SAKO hard backed history of the company from 1921 to 1971 loaded with pictures. I was looking at what all was needed in planning moving my reloading room around, just to get ready to start loading again after parts of the nerve track & connections in my spine are rebuilt over the next couple weeks, and thought back about that 10 days we spent in London on our own, playing Tourist before the 12 days in Finland at the plant at Rihimaaki and the 4 days on the Moose Hunt.

On the other hand a Browning BLR is gonna be light years easier & cheaper to find ..... And YES ...all of this is leftover stenosis damage to my nerve system from my Shingles infection starting last March, now that I am no longer dependent on a walker to get to the bathroom.

Had "chicken pox" ???? ...GO GET a SHINGLES SHOT !!!

Thought mebbe someone had seen a SAKO Finnwolf lever action preferably in 308 or 7-08 up for sale in a dealer's shop somewhere. Always wanted one and never could catch one at less than full retail anywhere, and rather have a lever action than a short short carbine bolt action. Meanwhile the 70's era M70 Fwt 7x57 is going to get the Batter Up position.

I shot a Finnwolf at the SAKO plant's 100 meter underground range in '83 and developed a itch for one, but even back then they were a limited production item. Super quick to reload a spent round and the most accurate lever action of any brand I ever shot. Ideal for tight ground blinds or tower & tree stands....or shooting out of wheel chair, if it comes to that.

Hoping these Docs in Tyler, at Precision Spine Care on S Broadway, next door to the Post Office, are as good as touted by the folks I've talked to. This right leg is a real problem from my big toe joint to my groin & lower back & waist on both sides of my hip ....but I am learning to drive again, at least for in town short trips.

Praying all goes well for you Ron. Sounds like you have been through a lot from having the shingles.

Have one in .243, but not .308.

Have you considered a Winchester 88 lever action in comparison to the Sako.

A .308 would be a fairly common caliber for it. I’ve got one in .284 Winchester.

Big time Yes! on the Praying for sure ...

My heart doc, Dr Noah Isreal, the Heart Dept head at Mother Francis in Tyler got in line and wanted me to take a turn with his shop here in Palestine since I had not been there in a little over 2 years to check on my 4 stents and take another look again at the calcification he found in my Aorta 2 years ago ( Dallas, Temple & my local CBOC VA ) have never looked at my heart since the Stents were put in 10 years ago ...good thing Dr Israel demanded it when he did. I knew I'd been feeling off all over during this episode besides all the unexplained Pain that put me on the exam Room's floor in the GP Dr's office rolling like I was stoned or something ... no major pain evident but DR Isreal's local PA jumped down my throat when she could not get my BP below 200 during the office visit last week. If she hadn't and we both ignored it I'd might have tanked totally when the Spine doc hit me with the shot that will allow him to work on my back to be "examined" and tolerate even local surgery even in a couple weeks . Explains why the MRI I had 3 weeks ago At Palestine General hurt like bejusus.

Right now this afternoon I am "building" an hourly Log of my BP levels and Averaging 135 +/- but always under 150..... AND A LONG Way from the 200 Dr Isreal's PA could not break down last week when I was in the Office.

Today I feel almost decent even with starting to clean out a 3 car Car Port of old junk furniture late last week with 5-6 pickup truck loads trips already to the Palestine trash dump in the last 4 days. Still got a little steady pain in the major joints when I push it past the tired level but mostly only in the major muscle groups , both upper and lower right leg & ankle and lower groin and back of the right hip...but becoming almost tolerable and am making progress even in this heat.

And All because I ignored getting a Shingles Shot back when the TV Ad's broke early last Spring. Don't ignore what I've been thru and be the DuumKoff I have been ....Need I say more about that????
