Looking for a nice 1911. Nothing engraved nice but a good quality reliable gun. 9mm or 45 I’d even consider a 10mm
I know the market is stupid but I’ll wait it out to get a fair deal. The higher end stuff doesn’t seem to really be out of line still
Wilson, nighthawk, Ed brown etc. not interested in anything kimber nothing against them but the last one burned me.
I’ll be traveling a lot over the next couple of months so could work out logistics if it’s somewhere I’ll be close to.

Do yourself a favor and look at Dan Wesson. High end performance but not as high end a cost as Wilson and Ed Brown. Les Bear makes a damn nice 1911 also.

I've got a few problems with Colt these days. 1) Quality Control. It's pretty common to find safeties that are mushy, no tactile "click" when moving between safe and not. It bugs the crap out of me and is common on many Colt's from the last few years. It's easily fixed by a gunsmith, but still it shouldn't be there in the first place. Also if you compare most Colt's to say a Dan Wesson, there is a big difference in fitting of parts, a BIG difference. 2) I don't like the Series 80 style trigger and parts, just not a fan - however, there are many Colt 1911's that are still made with series 70 style triggers. 3) The last is the kicker on top of the other 2, but still why I wouldn't recommend one over a Dan Wesson - Price. For some reason that I don't know the answer to, Colt's have recently over the last few years increased in price over that of a Dan Wesson. They just aren't worth it. A standard Colt 1911 Classic, Government, or Wiley Clapp etc. 1911 IS Still a nice gun, but it's a $1000 nice gun, not at $1500 gun.

What Earl said!
If you’re looking for an “In between” gun look at Sig. I have a match elite and an STX. Both are factory quality guns. Above Kimber and others for sure. Just not hand fit.
Hope this helps.

PM’s returned.
Dan Wesson and older colts would be considered.
4” is my first preference then a 5” and last a 3”. Not looking to carry it so not concerned about that at all.

I don't care for Kimber either.
I have the 9mm and .45 caliber models of the Tisas/SDS GI pistols.
They look cool and shoot great. There are lots of great reviews online.

Might have a Brand New never handled or shot Colt Mark IV/Series 70 Gov't. Model .45 Cal Semi Auto Pistol in a the Box for sale in a day or two. It's a $1000 nice gun, not at $1500 gun.
