I will go see it. A buddy rented a whole theater out for June 18. But I will probably see it before then.

The wife and I have still have a Christmas gift card for Cinemark theaters that we have not used, we will probably use it on Top Gun..

With TV technologies so great and affordable, add in all of the available streaming movies it is hard to get pumped or even think about going to the theater anymore, especially with how much they charge!
Let see do I want to pay around $30.00 per person to go to the movie theater or sit at home with my 70"- 80"+ TV that has super high def, sound bars etc, in the comfort of my own home
at a cost of maybe 25% of the cost when you factor in paying for the online movie and what ever you serve yourself in food & drinks at home scratch

It is also a wonderful thing to be able to pause the movie so you can reload or drop a load up

I saw it Tuesday night. If the original holds even a small place in your heart, you should really enjoy the new one. It is REALLY well done.

Kelley did an interview the other day on why she didn't get a call. She said "I got old and fat and look age appropriate".

I might go see it. Rewatched it on TV the other day with the wife. It really was a bad movie and doesn't age well. But now I'm curious because all the hype says this one is pretty good.

Saw it Wednesday at a work event. I agree. Some of the premise is a long shot but this is Hollywood/make believe.

Took my wife (to be) to the original in the theatre and I told her I'd take her to this one as well. I'm not a theatre guy but I'll go again.

It wasn't a bad movie at the time, it was actually pretty darn good back then.. You are correct it did not age well though!

Original movie was ok but the soundtrack was great.

Yep the sound track was great and the special effects with the jets made the movie, not the acting. Kind of like Rocky!

The first one definitely put Val Kilmer on the map and made people enjoy him even more playing the role of Doc Holiday in Tombstone.

Never seen any movie where the chemistry was better than that between Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer in Tombstone.

Just saw it and can confirm your thoughts are spot on. The aviation aspects of the movie were especially good.

I didn’t care for the beginning, but that’s just me being nit-picky about flight test protocols & envelope expansion.
