Look for this post to get moved to the classifieds section.

Tolerance is the virtue of a man without conviction.

The end of the world began the day it was created, and life is a sexually transmitted terminal disease.

What you do is your business, but anytime you put a hole in the body of your feeder, it is only a matter of time before you start letting moisture in. In this case you are upping the chances by 10.

Not slamming the product, just telling you what my experience is with sight glasses and holes in the walls of feeders.

Are you worried about moisture in general or are you worried about moisture getting in through the holes that are drilled in the feeder? If your worried about moisture in general, then what about the hole in the bottom of the feeder by the spinner? Humidity in Texas is brutal but as long as the hole is sealed and is on the bottom side of the weather, you should be fine.

Not trying to argue, I'm just saying through experience as well.

Be careful with silicon as the metal expands and retracts in the Texas weather the silicon WILL crack

A certain amount of openings is good because it causes air flow to dry out condensation from temperature changes and prevents mildew I found this out when I quit using clamp on lids and started using slip on lids.
