Been shooting a bit this afternoon, and when I went down range to change targets, one of the bullets was laying there. Quite a nice even mushroom. I didn’t weigh it, but might in a couple of days. [Linked Image]

Looks like what I would expect, depending on the dirt that one hit it might not expand quite that much in a hog unless hitting bone but expand

BSB Bonded Solid Base

It is a lot like the old Trophy Bonded Bearclaw bullets that Federal loads and the Military gets ammo loaded with it for expanding penetrator loads in the 556.

The Trophy Boned bullets in 22 cal were 55 gr and worked well on deer. Bonded core with at the back 1/3 or so of the bullet being solid Gilding metal. Tough bullet though the BC is not very high.

Before I saw the bullets for sale I bought a few boxes of the 556 loads and they worked well on hogs in those. Though all my shots with them were inside 150 yards.

I should have added that I also have shot the 63 and 65 gr Sierras into the same dirt berm, and I have collected a few of them. They didn’t hold together anywhere near as good as that. But, they do group better. Still, there’s something to be said for a bonded bullet, and it shoots Ok. Hopefully it’ll go clean through a pig, which is my hope, and leave a substantial exit.

Just to say it though, I have sent a 65 gr GK though a medium sized hog.

You still building a Grendel? It will kill some hogs.

Yep, the Grendel is built. What I don’t presently have is ammo. Tuesday I’ll have some factory ammo, and I have reloading bits and pieces on hand. For the first time in decades, I might actually shoot some factory ammo.

That is one of two of my favorite hunting bullets for the 223. My son and daughter both shot deer and pigs with that bullet. You get a pass through on every shot with about a dime size exit every time. The penetrate deep and work very well. My next favorite bullet is the 70 grain Accubond.

I've got 2 of those that I did recover from a pig. Both from the same pig.

You've obviously never shot much with a 223 comparing a 64 grain bonded bullet to a Rem core lokt or you would know the difference. That's why your comment was an ignorant comment.

Call me and see if I answer. I answer when I'm not on the phone already, talking to a customer at the shop or behind a press making ammo. Website is up and running just fine. Go to it and place an order and find out. It will be much better ammo than your Remington Core Lokt ammo. But you may not even know the difference.

No need. Got my ammo elsewhere. Your skill set is not unique. The ammo I got from you before was very good, but certainly not something that only you can accomplish. Good luck to ya.
